Programme Format: Keeping the current situation in focus, the 20th batch of GMP will be delivered as a Blended Learning Programme.

Get immersed in the context of the upcoming session by familiarizing yourself with the reading material and case studies shared with you before the class. Group and individual study hours before the class will ensure your active participation in the learning process. Recommended time: 2 to 4 hours per week
Learning diaries and self-reflection after the class ensures that you internalize the concepts learnt, consolidate your knowledge and begin figuring out ways on how to put the relevant knowledge into practice. Recommended time: 1 hour post class
With some of the top faculty from the institute as your facilitators, get ready for an intense and immersive learning experience as the groups discuss and analyze the case of the day from all possible angles. In this process, the cohort brings in its rich professional experience to the class and raises the overall learning experience for everyone. Kindly note, there are no recorded sessions provided as this is a Live Learning module. Time: 6 hours per week
The six-month weekend programme gives you ample opportunity to apply the management principles to your workplace in real time. Participants are encouraged to actively apply learnings in their workplace and share with the group and faculty during subsequent sessions.
The GMP is for managers seeking to re-vitalize their careers. It is most appropriate for managers holding positions of responsibility within functional departments of medium to large businesses. The participants should have at least 5 years of managerial experience after graduation. As the programme makes exceptional intellectual & emotional demands, participants should have an inquiring mind and capacity to think clearly. They must also have a high degree of adaptability and maturity to work and interact closely with other participants under considerable pressure.
A mix of pedagogical tools will be used including cases, lectures, discussions, presentations, audio-visuals, and experiential exercises. Preparation for the class requires doing intensive reading of course material. For effective learning participants should budget approximately 15 hours of reading time in-between sessions. Informal group discussions amongst participants are recommended.
A certificate of Completion will be issued by Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) to the participants who have completed all the requirements of the programme including attendance of at least 80% of the direct class room contacts and submission of all assignments.
The programme is divided into several interdependent modules, each of which focuses on a different aspect or function of management. At the end of the programme, there will be an intensive integrated group exercise which will help participants consolidate their learning from various modules of the programme.
Prof. Errol D’Souza’s current academic interests include tax reforms and fiscal/monetary policy, the structure of corporate finance, social security and livelihood issues in the informal sector, personnel economics and governance issues. He is a consultant to industry, the banking sector, UNDP, ILO, and Government. Former Director on the board of the National Housing Bank, he is currently on the Board of Governors of the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, the Rajasthan Shram Sarathi Association, and the India Gold Policy Centre.
Prof. Aditya Moses is an Assistant Professor of HR Management at IIMA. His substantive areas of interest include social innovation, social enterprise strategies, healthcare, human resource management, and international human resource management. Aditya has worked as Manager- HRM responsible for the HRM function of a hospital chain in Maharashtra and as a training consultant prior to joining his FPM at IIMB.
Prof. Jayant Varma teaches courses in capital markets, fixed income, alternative investments, risk management and corporate finance in post graduate, doctoral and executive education programmes. Areas of research include financial markets including equity, debt, currency and derivative markets. He is also interested in broader issues related to the financial sector as also in mathematical modelling and computer simulation.
Prof. Sanjay Verma teaches information systems, knowledge management, customer relationship management, operations management and marketing in post graduate, doctoral and executive education programmes. Areas of research include measurement of business performance, knowledge management, e-governance and scheduling problems.
Prof. Subhadip Roy teaching marketing management in post graduate, doctoral and executive education programmes at IIMA and his research interests include celebrity endorsements, brand management, advertising, social media advertising and branding.
Prof. Chetan Soman teaches operation management in post graduate, doctoral and executive education programmes at IIMA and his research interests include food supply chains, advanced planning & scheduling in process industries, and, application of simulation for decision making.
Prof. Kirti Sharda’s primary teaching interests lie in the areas of leadership, interpersonal and group dynamics, self-awareness in organisations, psychology, and entrepreneurship. Her current research is centred on diversity and inclusion in organizations and organizational neuroscience. She has developed teaching cases around issues related to team effectiveness, employee motivation, talent management, and entrepreneurial orientation.
Prof. Biju Varkkey is currently teaches human resource management in the graduate, executive development and doctoral programs. Areas of academic interest are strategic human resource management, change management, new public management, leadership development, HR architecture for firms, performance management & improvement, flexible workplaces, employment relations, start-ups, family business transformation and public private partnerships in infrastructure.
Prof. Sunil Maheshwari teaches human resource management in the graduate, executive development and doctoral programs at IIMA. His research interests include HRM in healthcare management, turnaround management and Leadership.
Prof. Diptesh Ghosh teaches post graduate, doctoral and executive education programmes at IIMA in the areas of applications of mathematical programming, decision analysis, discrete optimization, theory of graphs and networks and heuristic methods of problem solving. His research interests include metaheuristics, evolutionary algorithms and layout problems.
Prof. Amit Karna teaches business and corporate strategy, innovation, disruptive business models, entrepreneurial mindset in post graduate, doctoral and executive education programmes. Some of his research interests include R&D capabilities financial performance and capital market returns, business model adaptation, industrial clusters and effects on international strategy and diversification effects on performance of firms.
Prof. Sunil Sharma teaches strategy in post graduate, doctoral and executive education programmes. His areas of research include strategy execution and professional service firms, and he currently serves as the Chairperson of Executive Education at IIMA.
Dr. Desai’s research interests are in the areas of Auditing, Corporate Governance and Fraud Risk Assessment. He primarily examines the behavioral impact of various governance and fraud risk factors on the perceptions of auditors and company management. He has published several papers in renowned international research journals and has also acted as a reviewer for such journals.
Participants who attend the Executive Education Programmes for the first time, on or after April 1, 2012, will have to attend a total of 21 days in one or more programmes to be eligible for alumni status and alumni identity card, both of which will be awarded on payment of one-time alumni fee of AED 500.
